Why did I get an e-mail about activating the Curio Collection, English Garden or Advent Calendar?

When a Curio Collection, English Garden or Advent Calendar is activated or re-activated, an email is sent to the address we have registered for that activation code.

For our browser-based products, activation details are held in cookies, so if you deliberately or inadvertently delete your cookies, or clear your browser history, you will find that the next time you use the Curio Collection, English Garden or Cotswold or Edinburgh Advent Calendar, it will have to be re-activated and you will receive this email again.

Normally you should only receive this email once for each device or browser that you use for your Curio Collection, English Garden or Advent Calendar. If you are being prompted to enter an activation code every time you use the product, that is because your browser is blocking our cookies, or your cookies or browser history are being cleared or deleted.

If that happens then you need to adjust your browser or software settings, because each activation code can only be used a certain number of times before it becomes invalid. You can find more details about cookies here, and further instructions on how to enable and manage cookies here.

If you use multiple web browsers (for example, Internet Explorer and Chrome), then you will receive one activation for each browser used \u2013 again resulting in this email being sent.

But I haven't activated the product recently!

It's also possible that someone else may be using an activation code which is registered to your email address. This can happen if the original purchaser of the product passes the code to a third party who then uses it to activate the product concerned.

Don't worry, you won't get deluged with email every time someone uses the code! \u2013 every activation code is limited to a very few activations before it becomes invalid. For this reason it's best not to give your activation code to others, in case you need to re-activate your Curio Collection, English Garden or Advent Calendar. If this happens please contact us by taking the third option to the question at the bottom of this page.
