I have a question about methods of payment and currencies
Please note: the following information relates to purchases here on our website. Purchases of ecard subscriptions through our ecards app take place through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and are subject to the terms of the store concerned which may be different from our own.
What methods of payment do you accept?
We accept online payments by credit card, debit card, Paypal or Apple Pay.
Unfortunately we are not able to accept payment by cheque, money order or cash, or via online banking.
If your debit or credit card is not accepted by our normal online payment process, you can try using Paypal instead since Paypal may be able to accept cards which we cannot. In many cases (depending on your country) you do not have to have a Paypal account to do this, and can select to checkout "as a guest".
On completion of payment by credit or debit card, your ecards membership (new or renewal) or other purchase will be activated immediately and automatically and you will receive a confirmation of the transaction by email.
What currencies do you accept?
We accept payment in sterling (UK pounds), US dollars, Euros, Canadian dollars and Australian dollars.
When you take out a new membership the computer will ask what country you are from and automatically quote our price in the appropriate currency, as follows:
- GBP — United Kingdom
- EUR — All countries using the Euro, plus EU/EEA countries listed below
- AUD — Australia
- CAD — Canada
- USD — USA and all other countries
EU/EEA countries
As of January 2021, customers from Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Hungary, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Poland and Sweden are charged in Euros. If you joined from one of those countries prior to January 2021 you will previously have been charged in USD and any automatic subscription renewal will continue to be charged in USD. To switch to payment in Euros, simply go to My Details to cancel your automatic renewal, and renew manually using a payment card denominated in Euros.
Why are you charging me in the wrong currency?
The currency we use for your payment is based on your country of residence, as you gave us when you first became a member. You can check this by logging in and going to My Details. Your country and postcode are shown in the Personal Information section. If your country is incorrect, you can change it on that page.
Please note that the country and postcode you give on the My Details page must match the billing address of your payment card.
